The Nintendo Wii is still flying off the shelves, so you just know that business-types are trying to get their hands in the ever-growing pot of money! According to a Tech-On! article, a company called Kionix believes it has the techniques needed to improve the Wii remote's accelerometer. The accelerometer is a critical component in the controller's motion sensing, which is of course one of the main draws for folks buying the system. It's not quite as accurate as it could be, although it's still a lot of fun, so Nintendo is actively exploring options to make deals with new companies that will provide it with the ideal accelerometer parts. It hasn't made a decision yet, but when it does, the Wii remote could become that much more fun for you and your friends to play with.
