Coby plans on producing the PoqetMate line of what Coby is calling "Midget" laptops. Although this is perhaps one of the worst non-politically correct marketing names of all time, the Coby PoqetMate is actually nothing other than yet another netbook. What is noticable about the device is that the entry level PoqetMate will come with a 7-inch screen and be priced at $99.95. Coby plans on offering the sub-hundred dollar netbooks in stores like Odd Lots, Rite-Aid, and Kroger's nationwide in March. If you've been waiting to get a netbook at really inexpensive prices, the Coby PoqetMate may be the diminutive Linux-powered latpop with a QWERTY keyboard for which you've been waiting.

Update: It would appear that this entire story was a hoax.
