For many consumers, the aesthetic experience of a cellphone is just as important as the features -- choosing a handset is a statement of personality. Phone-maker HTC knows this well, so it has purchased San Francisco-based One & Co., the design firm that it worked with on the acclaimed Touch Diamond. HTC is also responsible for T-Mobile's Google Android-based G1, and the just-announced Shadow II. One & Co. won't be completely absorbed into the cellphone world, though; it will retain its name and all of its current clients, which include Sony, Adidas, Coca-Cola, and others.
