Apple announced relatively high-end in-ear headphones back in September, but for nearly two months we've been waiting for their release, unsure of the reason for the delay. With little fanfare and less explanation, the headphones have finally begun shipping from Apple's online store at the originally announced price of $79 — at least we think they have. The product description still says "Coming Soon" even as the "Add to Cart" button and shipping times have been added.

If you buy these, you'll find that they also come with controls and a microphone easily accessible on the cord, just like the mic-equipped headphones that are included in the iPhone 3G box. We haven't had the chance to test this product yet, but the idea is that it's what Apple aficionados will buy if they want the iconic white earbuds but a little more upscale, so if you probably already know if they're for you.
