Acer joins the pico-projector club with its tiny, 1.2-pound K10 model. Although it won't fit in your pocket like some other handheld models, the K10 features a high-quality DLP image source instead of a low-contrast transmissive LCD and a resolution high enough to use with a computer: at 800 x 600, it should be detailed enough to handle displaying presentations with everything but the most detailed charts. The K10 uses an LED light source to eliminate the need for bulb replacements and make the projector more durable, though that limits its light output to 100 ANSI lumens. While that might not hold up against larger models, the rating is twice as high as the 50 lumens claimed by the otherwise-similar Dell M109S projector. Making the Acer even more attractive, it should cost around $440 when it comes out in January, sixty dollars less than the Dell.
