iPhone and iPod get more streaming video with Joost app

The iPhone (and its Wi-Fi-only cousin the iPod Touch) is a critical player in an on-demand cultural revolution, in the sense that samples of the world's culture (music, film, etc.) are available on the device anytime, anywhere. There's no better example of this than the bundled YouTube app, which allows owners to stream YouTube videos, but it was only a matter of time before serious alternatives showed up on the scene, and Joost is one of the first with its own streaming video app. The Joost app only works on Wi-Fi so you can't watch videos over the 3G or EDGE cellular networks, but if you're near a wireless hub you can watch several TV episodes, music videos, and feature films, including several copyrighted works you won't find on YouTube. Folks are still waiting for a similar app from Hulu, but Joost will have to suffice until the king of content finally comes around.
