A quick glance over the conversations below reveals that a whole slew of online retailers are offering special Cyber Monday sales today. In case you've never heard of Cyber Monday, it's largely a marketing ploy originally designed to encourage people to shop online after they return to their offices on the Monday after Black Friday's rush of shopping at actual physical stores. More details on the history behind this event can be found on Wikipedia. Assorted Cyber Monday deals from Amazon, Apple, Best Buy, Circuit City, Dell, J&R, Newegg, Toys R Us, and Walmart can be found in the links below.

Notable sale items include the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 on sale via Dell's Cyber Monday page for $299 after a $50 instant savings. This is the Linux version that you can trick out with a 32GB SSD drive if you like. Also, eBay is offering a 2009 Chevrolet Corvette C6 Coupe for a buy it now price of only $1 as part of its Doorbusters promotion, but only one C6 Coupe will be available at that price.

Also, shop.org's Cyber Monday website is the official site of the marketing event where numerous additional sales can be spotted.
