VIA has laid out its expected processor evolution for the next few years, confirming the dual-core Nano chips that the developer Centaur had been working on. The dual-cores will be built on a "new process technology", hinting at a step up in fabrication technology from the 65-nanometer process to be used on the E-series Nano chips arriving before the dual-cores. The future chips will retain pin compatibility, making integrating them with existing systems easier for manufacturers. The first sample chips should be available this time next year, with a full retail roll-out scheduled for summer 2010.
