Apple's Black Friday event is going live now, but unfortunately it turns out that Apple misled us in the sale's teaser ad by saying, "You'll find dozens of iPod, iPhone, and Mac gift ideas." As you can clearly see from the carefully plotted chart above, Apple is only offering discounts on six of its primary products, not dozens of the mainline expensive Apple gadgets. The iPhone isn't getting any sale whatsoever. If you go to Apple's Black Friday sales event page, you'll find that you can save on a few iPhone peripherals like getting the iPhone dock for $5 cheaper than normal and the Apple Bluetooth Headset for $11 off. Of the six main products that are on sale, you can get: the iPod nano for $11 cheaper; the iPod Classic, the iPod touch, and the Apple TV each for $21 cheaper; the white MacBook for $51 cheaper; and both models of the new 13-inch Macbooks and all iMac models for $101 cheaper. There are numerous discounts on other peripherals and third party products, however, and the sale is today only, so check it out and let us know if you bought anything in the comments below.

The education discount is the same, so no point in buying one of the macbooks today.
