Sony's coming out with two new PlayStation 3 accessories for the holiday season, the long-awaited Bluetooth Wireless Keypad and a new AC adapter charging kit. The Wireless Keypad clips onto either a SIXAXIS or DualShock 3 controller to provide a thumbboard for in-game text messaging and use with PlayStation Home. In addition to the basic QWERTY layout, the accessory includes shortcut buttons and and a touchpad mode for pointer control while browsing the web. The $50 Wireless Keypad isn't exclusive to console use, as any compatible Bluetooth device will support it as an external keyboard input. Sony's $25 charging kit provides two USB power sources for connection to PS3 controllers, Bluetooth headsets, and the PSP portable console. Again, this accessory isn't limited to working with PS3 gear, and should charge any device with a standard USB connection. Both items will be available starting in December.
