Pantech's Duo 2, a Windows Mobile dual slider smartphone, has received FCC approval, clearing the way for its release. The successor to the original Duo, a slimmed-down version of the Helio Ocean, the Duo 2 is a dual-band GSM phone with WCDMA 3G support. The FCC documents show it to have a two-megapixel camera with video recording capability, the expected Bluetooth support, and a microSD slot for expansion. Though there's been no formal word on what US carrier will be featuring the phone, the FCC documents hint at AT&T, as a draft product manual makes several references to specific AT&T data services. In addition to this GSM version, Verizon has said it's planning on releasing a CDMA of the handset, though there's no word yet on planned release dates for either version.
