Optoma's Pico PK-101 projector, already available overseas, is geared for a US release. The tiny projector uses a DLP micromirror chip to form its image, giving it a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, well above that of other ultracompact projectors. That ratio's especially important for pocket projectors, as since the devices often have very low-brightness outputs to begin with, a high contrast ratio lets them extract the most performance from their light sources. In Optoma's case, the Pico uses an LED source rated at nine ANSI lumens, still very dim, but brighter than other pocket-sized models. Despite those promising specs, the Optoma comes in below the curve with its quite low 480 x 320 resolution. Compounding matters, the PK-101 lacks VGA compatibility, with only composite video input. So, while it might be a good match for hooking up to an iPod on-the-go (with the included cable), the model doesn't look like a good candidate for connecting to a laptop. The $400 Pico should be available in the US shortly.

Anyone's got an idea of how to connect the Pico to a MacBook Pro, through its VGA port??
