Acer is joining the lineup of manufacturers putting together computers based on Intel's new Core i7 CPU lineup with its Aspire M7720. The Aspire will use the 920 version of the new Intel chip, a quad-core processor running at 2.66GHz. While this isn't as fast as the 3.2GHz Extreme Edition i7 in the recently-announced ASUS ROG CG6190, the 2.66GHz chip is one-third its price, helping to keep the overall system cost down. The M7720 ships with 3GB of memory, capable of supporting up to 12GB, and a 750GB hard disk drive. Since you're probably going to want to try out a few of the latest games, considering this is cutting-edge hardware, Acer is including an ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card with 1GB of video memory. Acer hasn't released any further specs, but they should be available shortly as the company releases the machine in Taiwan on the 29th for around $1,200.
