Fujitsu demonstrated the water-tightness of its F-01A handset, showing off its internal design to reporters. There are plenty of water-resistant phones, and phones with waterproof cases, but it's rare to see a fully-articulated, feature-rich phone able to function after being fully submerged. The F-01A's display, a 3.5-inch screen with high 854 x 480 resolution, is mounted on a pair of hinges, letting it spin around and face outwards for media viewing. Despite this setup, Fujitsu engineers have managed to maintain a seal keeping water out. The GSM phone includes a 5.2-megapixel CMOS camera, Bluetooth, and a fingerprint scanner, all waterproof. The phone's official rating gives it protection against a depth of about one yard for at least 30 minutes.

Would you pay a premium for a waterproof phone? Is accidentally soaking your cell a disaster, or a good excuse to upgrade to a newer model? Let us know in the comments below.
