Sony launches Green Glove TV recycling service

Sony makes a contribution to environmental consciousness with its new Green Glove Service, designed to make it easier to recycle those old CRT televisions. It would be nice if the range of available service were a bit wider but such as it is, if you purchase a new Sony BRAVIA LCD TV that is 32-inches or larger, either from SonyStyle.com or in Sony Style stores, and opt for premier home delivery, the delivery crew will take away your old CRT TV to be recycled. We half expected the stipulation list to go on to include elements such as "must live in a home facing NNW" and "must submit delivery request on an alternate Tuesday" but hey — Sony's making an effort here, people.
Before this program you had to burn your own fossil fuels to take your old TVs to a Waste Management Recycle America location. If you happen to be one of those egregiously wasteful individuals who opts for a 31-inch TV, or willfully consents to destroying the planet by shopping somewhere other than a Sony store, you are still encouraged to recycle your old sets at an WMRA location; search for one in your area here.
