President-elect Barack Obama has launched his first weekly video to be distributed via YouTube:
According to Change.gov, Obama will provide a weekly video during the transition period. Following his inauguration as President, Obama will continue the weekly broadcast from the White House. The weekly address will continue to be available on the radio and will also be available on AOL, Yahoo, and MSN, as well as a direct download QuickTime file from Change.org.

You never saw Reagan or Clinton or Nixon putting video updates on YouTube.
Change indeed!

To be fair, although YouTube didn't exist pre-2005, the internet has been around since the 60s and no previous Presidents have actively embraced it as an alternative to mainstream media broadcast for interfacing with constituents.

I'm fairly certain you mean change.gov and not change.org

Thank you President-Elect Obama for reaching out and updating us on a weekly basis. This should be standard across the board for ALL of those who make decisions for our country. The tax paying citizens should be informed who's not doing their job and maybe our country would not have to suffer such a great loss.

There is a growing number of people that believe that a condition of the bad credit personal loans from President Obama to the troubled companies should be that the large banks that have absorbed toxic assets accept a period of nationalization. Nationalized banking has been tried before in the U.S., but it never lasts and it usually doesn't work too well. Freedom of choice is what America is all about. One would just worry that if it were to happen, banks would dominate all aspects of credit, and then there would be no choice where to get Cash Advance if we needed them.
