MGM Studios is the first major film studio to enter in an agreement with Google to begin hosting their movies and television shows on YouTube. Viewers will be able to watch full length movies with advertisements displayed alongside them, and Google will be sharing revenue from the ad sales with MGM as part of the deal.

The real question, however, is if the quality of YouTube's video will step up to the content and present a true HD version of the videos to compete with services like Hulu. If so, this may be one more reason to ditch your cable box.

Soon you'll no longer have to wait for those TNT James Bond holiday marathons. Instead, you'll be able to watch Octopussy whenever you want from the comfort of your own computer.
