Yahoo still considering Microsoft buyout deal

Yahoo says it's still keeping Microsoft's buyout offer in mind, though the company has been making business moves aimed at avoiding becoming part of the Redmond giant. After the initial Microsoft offer was rescinded, the company offered to buy Yahoo's search division. Yahoo says it's "open minded" about such a search deal going through, but said there were no updates to be had or progress made. Yahoo's search division took a hit this week when Google pulled out of a pact, concerned over antitrust issues in allying with another search firm. This news adds to upsets that have devalued Yahoo, driving the company's stock well below offers Microsoft initially made and causing stockholders to complain over the company's missed opportunity. There's no word yet from Microsoft on its reaction.
