Sources in the laptop industry are spreading rumors that ASUS will be releasing a super-slim 12-inch model by the end of the year for under $1000. The laptop will launch the company's ZX series of devices, though its precise model number is still unknown. Although the ZX laptop should feature a 16:10 screen, no other specs have been speculated on. Reports point to the model being a beefed-up version of the S101, a high-end Eee PC. ASUS has stated that it considers any model with a screen 11 inches or larger a proper laptop instead of a netbook, so the only hardware difference between this upcoming model and the Eees may be the display.
