Apple MacBook and MacBook Pro both capable of 6GB of RAM
Although technically the architecture inside the new MacBooks should be capable of supporting 8GBs of RAM, Apple had claimed 4GBs. Ramjet confirms 6GB supported.

I may need to revise my 9 out of 10 rating on the Obsessable MacBook 2008 review to 9.5 out of 10 thanks to news that the new MacBooks and MacBook Pros are capable of supporting up to 6GBs of RAM, 2GBs more than the amount Apple had previously indicated. Ramjet has confirmed that 6GBs of RAM are supported by installing a 4GB chip (which currently costs about $600 from Ramjet) and a second 2GB chip. The actual architecture of the MacBooks and MacBook Pros should be capable of supporting 8GBs of RAM (two 4GB chips), technically, but Apple hasn't yet enabled that support. Nevertheless if you have about $700 to burn, you can crank your MacBook or MacBook Pro up to eleven with 2GBs of RAM more than Apple's 4GB limit.
