Gmail for mobile version 2.0 now available

Gmail mobile mail client version 2.0 for BlackBerry and J2ME-savvy mobile phones now allows offline writing and reading of email.

Yesterday, Google announced version 2.0 of Gmail for mobile, available now for download from m.google.com/mail in your mobile phone's web browser, for all BlackBerry and J2ME-supported mobile devices. The most notable addition in this version of the software is the ability to read and compose email when you are offline via a new local caching feature.

Now when you're on that long business flight and you switch your BlackBerry to offline mode for flying, you can still use it to write emails that will be saved in your phone's outbox and delivered once you connect again after landing.
