Unhappy Mac User! (11:59 AM on Mon Nov 17, 2008)
But! You can not upgrade on a Mac and I will never buy another one because of it!

I bought the blackberry rather than the iphone because they told me I couldn't even use it at all until I set it up on a windows pc or mac, of which I have neither. The tmobile just tried to tell me that the phone they sent me doesn't work right (software issue) and that it was essentially my problem. Of course I finally got them to send off a replacement, but the point is: if they would release this "desktop" software as open source (its free, its just transport software, why not make it open source) then those of us on linux or mac could fix our own damn phones. My new phone should be coming shortly however, and I can't wait to try out the preinstalled 4.5 I've been waiting for.

I updated to the OS 4.5 Software after receiving a text message from T-Mobile that the update would make reading emails easier. My phone now constantly reboots and spaces out. I've been dealing with T-Mobile & Blackberry for days now and have spent 12+ hours trying to resolve the problem so that my phone is functional. I've deleted and reinstalled the LoaderApp numerous times and have had the sim card replaced too. I've been told that there is a problem with some radio inside the Blackberry and that the problem is completely unrelated to the software upgrade. Since my Blackberry is more than 12 months old, RIM says that there is no warranty and there is nothing they can do to help me. I will have to get a new phone. If you have a Curve 8320, update the software at your own risk if you've had your phone for more than a year. I think I am going to ditch T-Mobile and my Blackberry. Whatever happened to customer service?

It is ridiculous that you can not update your Blackberry on a Macintosh.
