Motorola's social networking Android phone due for mid-2009 launch

After hiring over 300 people to develop a social networking-focused Android-based cellphone, is Motorola teed up to take down the T-Mobile G1 in mid-2009?

Earlier this month, word spread that Motorola was on a developer hiring-spree, assembling a team of over 300 developers focused on building a new social-media friendly phone running Google's new Android OS. Today, news comes that this mystery phone should be released sometime in mid-2009. Ultimately, there is too little information available to tell whether Motorola's Google phone will challenge the T-Mobile G1, although Motorola claims it will definitely be priced lower than the G1.
