NEC launched the NEC LaVie Light series of netbooks today in Japan with the NEC LaVie Light BL100/RA featuring an 8.9-inch screen, an Intel Atom N270 1.60GHz processor, and running Windows XP.

As several of the sites in the conversation below note, there is nothing ground-breaking about this first member of the series other than it being NEC's entry into the netbook arena.
