Russian gadget designer INCRUDO has announced its Phantom, an extremely limited edition ruggedized mobile handset. Limited to only ten units, the Phantom is housed in a 2-to-3-millimeter-thick titanium alloy with ceramic accents. The Phantom's QVGA screen is protected with a 4-millimeter-thick layer of corundum, the crystal that makes up sapphire and ruby, which is near-unscratchable. All this protection makes the phone quite heavy: it weighs just under twice as much as the iPhone, at almost half a pound. INCRUDO promises a 3.2-megapixel camera, 8GB internal storage, and a web browser, but speeds are limited by the lack of 3G support - EDGE is as fast as the Phantom will go. The phone will be available at select Moscow retailers for around $830.
