LG formally revealed an upcoming mobile handset, the 3G HSDPA Renoir LG-KC910, which has photo and video options typically found exclusively on stand-alone digital cameras. The Renoir's camera has an ISO 1600 8-megapixel sensor and uses a true xenon flash, unlike the LEDs so commonly found in camera phones. Users can manually control focus with the phone's touchscreen, tapping on the photo's intended subject. Video capture is available at up to 120 frames per second, four or more times that of most camera phones, which when played back at 30fps creates a high-quality slow-motion effect. With an aGPS receiver, the Renoir supports geotagging, and its WiFi connection allows for easily uploading content. LG's Renoir will be available in Europe this month, with a worldwide roll-out following.
