Porsche Design -- not the automobile manufacturer -- has teamed up with cellphone maker Sagem once again to produce a candybar-style followup to the joint venture's P'9551 clamshell from last year. While the P'9522 does indeed boost several of its predecessor's specs, including the addition of WiFi, GPS, and a five-megapixel camera (up from three megapixels), it continues to reject 3G data standards in favor of slower EDGE networks. Plus, although it offers a microSD slot for expansion, the internal 5MB memory is barely enough to store a single MP3 track. Expected to ship in November for nearly half the price of the former model, the P'9552 will nonetheless cost the equivalent of about $875, or the same as a high-end, unlocked smartphone.
