Swedish-based Hasselblad says its shipping its latest medium format camera, the 50-megapixel H3DII-50 priced at $28,000, and will be shipping the 60-megapixel version in April 2009 for almost $36,000. The prohibitively expensive pro gear, like most medium format cameras, features a modular design allowing any part of the camera to be swapped out and upgraded, including the "back," where the imaging sensor is located. Hasselblad also dropped the price of its lower-end 39-megapixel camera to $22,000 at the biannual Photokina show in Colonge, Germany.
