Dell has officially revealed its "pocket-sized" digital projector, the M109S, with a 67% higher resolution than the recently-announced 3M MPro110 pocket projector. Although Dell's projector is twice the size and weighs almost three times as much as 3M's projector, thanks to a 50 ANSI lumen output from its long-life LED light source, the M109S can project a 858 x 600 image with its DLP imaging chip over seven feet away, creating an image measuring 60-inches diagonally with an 800:1 contrast ratio. To reduce the cables needed for it, Dell has designed the projector to the share the power adaptor of certain model Dell notebooks when connected to them. The $500 projector is available now from Dell's online store to US customers, with a worldwide release coming later.
