Flash memory manufacturer Pretec has unveiled several very fast, high capacity CompactFlash cards that it will be showing off at Leaf's Photokina booth in Cologne, Germany, including a record-breaking 100GB model. Both that card and a 64GB version claim a 35MBps maximum write speed, and both offer more storage than Pretec's previous flagship, which weighs in at 48GB. The company notes that four of its 64GB CF cards could be configured to operate as a 256GB solid state drive using a commercially available adapter, although at $400 apiece that setup would cost around $1,600. Also breaking records are the new 333x 50GB and $630 32GB models, which promise access speeds up to 50MBps. While the 233x 64GB and 333x 32GB cards are available immediately, the 233x 100GB and 333x 50GB ones won't ship until later in the year.
