Mad Catz has announced a portable drum kit for Rock Band on the Xbox 360 that can be considered the opposite of the semi-professional Drum Rocker by Ion Audio. Selling sometime soon for $60, the set abandons the traditional drum frame and instead offers four individual heads that players can lay onto any solid surface to play, and then stuff into a backpack for travel. While this offering is clearly aimed at those who want a kit on-the-go -- going so far as to include soft-tipped, foldable sticks -- the controller may be useful in apartments where noise complaints resulting from loud plastic drum heads and vibrating drum frames are frequent.
