BenQ has quietly added a new point-and-shoot camera to the line on its website, the 10-megapixel DC E1050. A three-inch LCD screen takes up most of the camera's back, where it gives access to camera controls, including 32 shooting modes. The 3x optical zoom E1050 is quite thin - at 17.6 millimeters at its thickest, it's thinner than comparable Canon ELPH models. BenQ has included a "web sharing mode" which claims to record video optimized for uploading to online sharing sites, without having to re-encode on the PC first. The ultra-compact will only be available in metallic gray, with no price nor availability information presently available.
