NVIDIA is facing more hurdles in getting past the failures of some notebook GPUs, in the form of two new lawsuits. As the company announced in July, packaging and heat dissipation issues led to an above-baseline failure rate for the GPUs, prompting a payout to affected notebook manufacturers costing the company around $200 million. This loss has triggered two law firms to file class-action suits in the Northern District Court of California against NVIDIA, on behalf of shareholders. The suits allege that NVIDIA had knowledge of the failing GPUs as far back as November 2007, and failed to notify shareholders of the coming financial burden the company would be facing. The classes for the suits are just starting to allow affected investors to join.
