3M is shrinking down its projector line with the upcoming release of the MPro110, a digital video projector small enough to fit in a pocket. The device uses an LED light source, instead of large metal halide bulbs as in conventional projectors, and a 640 x 480 liquid crystal on silicon imaging chip to project video. Reports indicate brightness to be an issue, as the image can become washed-out when in overbearing ambient light, though apparently it becomes much more usable when set up in a darkened room. The 110 accepts VGA and composite inputs, weighs under six ounces, and is about 4.5 x 2 x 1 inches in size. The projector should be available at the end of the month for around $360. A German-language demo video is embedded after the break.
