T-Mobile will reportedly be launching the world's first cellphone running Google Android operating system, the HTC Dream, as early as next week, claims The Wall Street Journal. Citing inside sources, the paper reports that the telecom provider will announce the Dream slider on September 23rd, and begin selling the device before the end of October. This information matches previous launch estimates and manufacturer projections, and closely follows FCC approval of this highly-anticipated handset. HTC allegedly hopes to sell as many as 700,000 Dreams this year, although analysts are estimating a high closer to 500,000 units.
