HTC has posted official details on the latest addition to its Touch family of phones -- the Touch HD -- which was first revealed by Modaco last week. The "HD" in its name refers to a 3.8-inch "high definition" (more accurately "high resolution") 800 x 480 WVGA display along with a five megapixel auto-focus camera (sans flash), giving it the same pixel count as the upcoming Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 (and over twice that of the 480 x 320 iPhone) but a better camera -- it's the highest resolution imaging sensor the company has ever put in a device, and matches that of the Samsung Omnia. Its components, including a 528MHz Qualcomm processor and 512MB/288MB ROM/RAM, are also among the top of the line for Windows Mobile 6.1 handsets. While this unpriced model features all of the standard wireless connectivity and navigation options -- WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and GPS -- the initial configuration will only be able to connect to high-speed HSDPA 3G data networks in Europe and Asia.
