Sony has officially launched the flagship model of its Alpha digital SLR line, the 24.6 megapixel, full-frame A900. While a number of the camera's specs had been leaked earlier -- such as a 5fps image capture at full resolution and 3-inch, 912,000 pixel LCD -- all of the unit's features are now known, from its 6400 maximum ISO to its nine-point auto focus to its dual BIONZ image processors. This DSLR also offer an "Intelligent Preview" function, wherein different settings can be applied to an image on the display and adjusted before the picture is captured to memory (either a CompactFlash card or MemoryStick). Shipping in November, the A900 body will retail for around $3,000 -- nearly $5,000 less than Canon's 21.1 megapixel full-frame flagship, the EOS-1Ds Mark III.
