Steve Jobs has announced a new 120GB iPod classic that will replace both models in the current lineup. Though it is very unusual for a company to lower its maximum capacity, the $249 player -- which has the same thickness as the current 80GB model -- leaves consumers with less storage than the thicker 160GB version. The new iPod classic is on sale immediately.
