Apple has  announced iTunes 8, available immediatly as a free download from Apple.com. One big addition to version 8 is the Pandora-esque Genius feature which automatically creates playlists from similar songs in your music library and makes recommendations for music to purchase from iTunes based on your current library.  iTunes also added HD downloads of television programs for $2.99 (SD versions are still available for $1.99) and the ability to browse through albums by cover in a grid design, similar to browsing through photos in iPhoto.  NBC is also making a return to the iTunes store after being gone over a year due to monetary conflict with Apple.
