Sony unveiled the newest PSP and its superior LCD display -- which brings richer colors, better response times, and a higher contrast ratio -- in Leipzig.  The body of the new portable is further slimmed down from the current PSP and has an added microphone for interactive play similar to the Nintendo DS.  With the use of cables sold separately, it will also be able to output in interlaced format for non-progressive TVs.  This third generation, which will be available in Piano Black, Pearl White, and Mystic Silver colors, will begin shipping mid-October, although only European pricing of $300 is currently known.
