German medical device manufacturer Activaero has just received FDA clearance for its so-called Watchhaler aerosal drug reservoir system. This partiuclar "spacer," as it's known, controls the inhalation flow rate and volume for children with asthma, allowing caregivers to visually confirm that the right amount of medication has been inhaled at a safe pace. The Watchhaler, which attaches to a standard metered dose inhaler, has been available in Europe since April 2007.
