Sirius XM CEO Mel Karmazin said recently that interoperable (dual-mode) satellite radios that will allow subscribers to hear the full lineup from both services will hit the market early next year. In the meantime, the company will unveil an a la carte radio this fall that will feature select Sirius and XM programming. For an extra $4 a month, existing subscribers can choose from a "best of" package, although the company hasn't yet revealed what programming will be made available. Karmazin added that dual-mode radios for cars will not be ready for another three years.
