Nissan has demonstrated a version of its All-Around Collision Free safety system featuring new side and back-up collision sensors that alert drivers of potential hazards, including other vehicles and road debris. According to the company, the sensors, which are placed at various locations along a vehicle's exterior, are designed to deliver subtle yet noticeable warnings to drivers of possible dangers as they operate their vehicles. The system is part of Nissan's "Safety Shield" effort to reduce serious accidents involving its vehicles in half by 2015.
