Blockbuster has announced that it will begin offering its own movie download service next month, using technology acquired with its purchase of Movielink. The current trial is limited to 500 beta testers, though that number will steadily increase until a full rollout sometime next month. Rentals, which will become available at the same time as on-demand services offer them, will cost $2, while the $8-and-up titles-to-own will be released concurrent to the corresponding DVD.
