MSI's GX623 laptop is an updated version of the GX620. Like its predecessor, it's a standard 15.4-inch gaming laptop for the most part, but it tries to stand out from the pack in a couple of interesting ways.

The most advertised are the Turbo Drive Engine and ECO Engine technologies. With regards to the former, you'll get a turbo button. Press it and it'll clock up your CPU. On the other end of the spectrum is the ECO Engine, which can actually crank various operations down a bit to increase energy efficiency. There are actually a number of power modes, including Gaming, Movie, Presentation, Office, and Turbo Battery.

Another nice touch: highlight "W," "A," "S," and "D" buttons on the keyboard; those buttons are used for movement in many computer games.

While the GX620 had a GeForce 9600M graphics card, the GX623 has a newer GeForce GT 130M with 512 MB of video RAM. It also has an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a 2-megapixel webcam, 7.1 channel surround sound support, and an HDMI out jack.

MSI also offers the GX633, a variation of this laptop with an AMD Turion X2 processor instead of an Intel Core 2 Duo.
