Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

The MSI GT627, fully unveiled at CES 2009, is a gaming oriented notebook featuring a 15.4-inch 1280 x 800 LCD screen, a turbo drive button to increase CPU speed, and a 2-megapixel webcam.  The notebook runs on a 2.26 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 1 GB standard / 4 GB max DDR3 RAM, and comes with a choice of 160/250/320GB SATA HDD storage options. It has a NVIDIA Geforce 9800M GS 3D graphic card, 7.1 channel output capabilities, and five different modes for gaming, watching movies, giving presentations, and other activities. MSI has given the GT627 a Gigabit Ethernet connection, WiFi capabilities, 2 USB ports, Bluetooth compatibility, a graphics card output, a Firewire port, and an HDMI output. There is no information on release dates yet, but according to Amazon the price is $1149.99. Those interested in an entertainment notebook with a slightly larger screen may want to look at the MSI EX625 as well.
