There's nothing revolutionary about Gateway's NV series, but it's a solid foray into the 15-inch media laptop world.
The NV comes in two models, but both have an LED-backlit, 1366x768 screen, 4 GB of memory, a 320 GB hard drive, and the usual connections including Wi-Fi and HDMI, plus SD card, MMC, and Memory Stick ports. They also both have a one-touch backup solution.
The two models (NV5214u and NV5807u) differ most notably in their processors and video solutions. The former has a 2.1 GHz AMD Athlon 54 X2 processor and ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics. The latter has a 2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and and integrated Intel graphics chip.
The NV5214u starts at $499, the NV5807u at $599. Gateway hasn't announced a ship date yet.
