Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

Like Apple's MacBook Air and 2008 and 2009 model MacBooks and MacBook Pros, the Dell Adamo features a unibody milled from a single piece of aluminum. The entry priced model of the Dell Adamo runs $1,499 and features a 1.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB of RAM, and a 128 GB solid state drive. If you've got more money to spend, the top of the line pre-configured Adamo runs $2,299 and features a 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4 GB of RAM, a 128 GB solid state drive, and integrated mobile broadband.

Regardless of configuration, the Adamo features a 13.4-inch WLED displays at 1366 x 768, a full-size backlit keyboard with metallic key cap design, an integrated 1.3-megapixel camera, a Display Port connection, three USB ports, audio out, Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and a claimed battery life of about five hours on a single charge. The Dell Adamo measures 13.03 inches x 9.5 inches x 0.65 inches thick when closed putting the device at a thinness comparable to Apple's MacBook Air, albeit at a much heftier weight of four pounds.

On July 21st, 2009 Dell dropped the price of the Adama from $1,999 to $1,499 in response to price cuts on competing laptops.
