The ASUS Eee netbooks are ultra-compact laptops which emphasize convenience, portability, and connectivity rather than high-end performance-minded hardware. The 1000 series introduced a 10-inch screen to the Eee line, and at 3.2 lbs, it is the largest and heaviest of the compact Eee line. Many of the specs remain from the 901, including the 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor, 1 GB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n Wi Fi capability, and a built-in webcam. The 80GB hard drive is substantially larger than the 12GB solid state drive found in its predecessors. Battery life was also expanded up to 7.5 hours, up from the 901's 7 and the 2.5 in the 900 16G. The 1000H is also the first model to include ASUS's subscription online storage service, with an extra 10GB of online space they hope will assist in portability of work and multimedia.
