Originally released on Febuary 14, 2006 and most recently updated on February 26, 2008, the MacBook Pro is Apple's top-of-the-line laptop computer encased in an aluminum shell and available in both 15-inch and 17-inch screen models. The entry-level $1999 MSRP 15-inch MacBook Pro weighs 5.4lbs and features a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GBs of memory, a 200GB hard drive, an NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256 MBs of VRAM, and a DVD±RW/CD-RW double-layer SuperDrive. For close to $800 more, the standard 17-inch model weighs 6.8lbs and features a faster 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, larger 250GB hard drive, and NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 512MB VRAM. The standard mid-level 15-inch model is identical in specifications to the 17-inch model with the notable exception of the screen size and a lower price tag of $2499. All models run Mac OS X,  feature a multitouch mousepad and a backlit keyboard that automatically activates in low-light settings, and can support an external display via DVI at resolutions up to 2560 x 1600 pixels.
